Massachusetts Medical Society

The Massachusetts Medical Society is the statewide professional association for physicians and medical students. Dating back to 1781, MMS is the oldest continuously operating state medical society in the USA. They were founded just days after the battle of Yorktown.

The MMS publishes the New England Journal of Medicine, a leading global medical journal and web site, and Journal Watch alerts and newsletters covering 12 specialties. NEJM is the oldest continuously published medical journal in the world.

The Society’s main offices are in Waltham, MA, with editorial offices for NEJM located in Boston. The MMS is also a leader in continuing medical education for health care professionals throughout Massachusetts. The MMS has been an Advantage client since 1999.
