The company known today as Penton Media has been associated with Advantage in some way since 1998. In that year, Intertec Publishing of Overland Park, Kansas became an Advantage client, with Duke Communications of Loveland, Colorado following in 2000. After going through several name and ownership changes in the interim, the two divisions were united in 2007 under the Penton Media brand.
In early 2009, Penton Media completed a comprehensive seven-month project that began with an upgrade in Advantage revisions in the Overland Park office. The project continued with the consolidation of the Loveland, Colorado office into the upgraded Overland Park, Kansas operation. The two business units now co-exist in one united installation of Advantage at the Kansas location.
As part of the consolidation project, Penton also implemented two new modules, Conference and Event (CEM) and Access Management and Billing (AMB).
