Mission Statement
Advantage Computing Systems, Inc. was founded in 1979 under the name T and B Computing (TBC) as a wholly owned subsidiary of Townsend and Bottum, Inc. The company’s first client was a book publisher and the second was a magazine publisher. From the beginning, the software offered an integrated solution for subscriptions and books, and this integration remains a cornerstone of the software today. T and B was acquired by Thomas S. Monaghan, Inc. (sister company of Dominos Pizza) in 1988.
TBC became an independent corporation in 1992 when it was purchased by its current shareholders. TBC changed its name in 1997 to Advantage Computing Systems to better reflect its name recognition in the marketplace.
Advantage Computing Systems, Inc. (ACS) is a privately held corporation, owned by three officers of the company. ACS built its current Ann Arbor, Michigan headquarters in 1997, but quickly outgrew the space. A second wing was added in 2001.
