    John Moore; Engineer and Fire Fighter

    In his five years at ACS, John Moore has made his mark on the software and in client support.  He was part of a team that rewrote MSTDAT/FAST and also worked on converting INVDAT into the new user interface style, which included implementing scripts there.  Although John has always been a member of the software development team led by Howie Brooks, he was tapped three years ago to enter the upgrade and support world in engineering.  John is a key member of the team that works with Agora, Inc. He describes his role as alternating between fire fighter putting out fires, superhero solving issues, and whipping boy (although that happens very rarely).     ACS Welcomes A-lehdet of Finland

    ACS is happy to announce that A-lehdet has chosen Advantage and is beginning implementation.  The Helsinki-based company was started in 1933 with a single magazine. Today, the grandchildren of the founders  manage the company which has grown into a publishing house with a portfolio of 18 magazines, covering topics from politics to gardening, with customer demographics ranging from teenagers to senior citizens.     Angie Markel: Superior Support Service

    ACS is pleased to announce that Martin Media is the latest publisher to choose Advantage, and the fourth in France.  Martin Media is located at Révigny sur Ornain, in la Meuse, a region of Lorraine.  Martin Media also has an editorial office in Paris, as well as offices in Nancy, Liège (Belgium) and Madrid (Spain).     Bob Gray: Voice of Experience

    Bob Gray has the distinction of having more years of seniority at ACS than the company has been in business.  That's because Bob was working at one of the firms that merged to become T & B Computing (the original name of ACS) and was allowed to count his years of service there when T & B Computing was formed.  In his 30+ years here, Bob has witnessed remarkable changes in operating systems, programming languages and software technology.  When he first began his career in computing, he programmed in Fortran for a mainframe computer, even using card decks on occasion, and had to debug using core dumps (or hex dumps).  Access to the computer was through shared terminals in a terminal room, where they were connected via phone modems …

    Here to serve you, the Advantage Support Center is always available to provide assistance.   The center is staffed during normal coverage hours (8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays).   In addition, after-hours support is easily accessible outside these hours.     Sean Leslie: Welcome to ACS

    We are pleased to welcome Sean Leslie, who joins ACS as a programmer in the Product Development group led by Howie Brooks.  Sean is a recent graduate of Florida International University in Miami, Florida, and earned a degree in computer science there.  Sean has always been interested in computers, although his early interest was focused on playing games on them (something he still likes to do). Sean grew up in Miami, but with both parents employed by major airlines, the family did a lot of traveling including many trips up and down the east coast, and treks to Vancouver, Seattle, Mt. St. Helens and the Gulf Coast. After graduating from college, Sean looked for a job in the computer game development field, but did not find that to his liking.  He came to …
