Mediahuis Live on Advantage

Congratulations to Mediahuis on their recent go-live on Advantage. In late October, Mediahuis Limburg completed an 11-month conversion off their legacy P5 system and began fulfilling their daily Dutch newspaper, De Limburger, through Advantage. This is the first of three fulfillment systems at Mediahuis that will migrate to Advantage.

“After more than a year of hard work, we finally went live with our project---the launch of a new subscription system. I was very happy to feel so much positive energy and to see so many happy faces!” said Steve Conard, Project Manager, Mediahuis. “A big thanks to the entire project team and our partner AdvantageCS who made this possible!”

After determining that developing an in-house solution to replace their separate fulfillment systems was not feasible, Mediahuis conducted a thorough search and chose Advantage as the replacement system to support their business now and for the future. The implementation began in late 2017.

Benny Menten, Director Mediaservices, Mediahuis Limburg says: “The project team has delivered a great performance.”

For go-live, the Mediahuis team mocked up a page of their newspaper, De Limburger, highlighting the project. (If you don’t read Dutch, you can see “software AdvantageCS” in the third line from the bottom of the first paragraph. And "elvis" was the internal name given to the project.)

The next two system replacements are in the works, as well as the implementation of Advantage at Mediahuis’ subsidiary, Telegraaf Media Groep (TMG), which is also targeting a go-live next year.

Koen Vandaele, Group ICT Director at Mediahuis, had this to say: “Congratulations on this beautiful achievement. This is good example of working together within Mediahuis across numerous departments that we can be very proud of. Equally, this launch gives us a lot of confidence for the next phase early next year.”

Mediahuis is a newspaper publisher in Belgium which was founded in 2013 as a joint venture of two Flemish corporations---Corelio and Concerta. The company’s roots, however, date back to 1879 when its first newspaper was published. Today’s Mediahuis encompasses radio stations, television stations, websites, and classified platforms, and, with the 2015 acquisition of the Dutch Telegraaf Media Groep, it added a large group of daily and weekly publications and doubled its circulation size.
