One of the challenges of a company like ours is organizing ourselves in such a way as to be able to serve our existing clients well, implement Advantage at new clients effectively, and push our product into places where our clients will need it to be when they get there. This was brought home to me this week while visiting an AdvantageCS client who needs the products we are developing ASAP!
This is the story at so many of the publishing companies we visit. They are under tremendous pressure to deliver new products to their audience in order to grow and thrive. They are looking to technology companies like AdvantageCS to provide what they need, and speed to market is of the utmost importance.
We’ve made some changes to meet these increasingly crucial demands. Recently, a team of developers and a product manager (a new role at AdvantageCS) were handed a large development project with a very strict deadline. This is an R&D effort, so the deadline is being self-imposed based on market conditions. It’s an exciting project which we’ll be informing you about more as it progresses. The point is, we need to work in new ways to get our products out quickly without sacrificing quality. In fact, quality is even more important given the stringent timescales under which we are working. If we don’t deliver quality, our clients can’t make their deadlines and no one wins.
AdvantageCS has always been a company made up of people with the “can-solve” spirit I’ve discussed here before. We’re determined and energized by the new demands we’re under from more and more clients. It’s both invigorating and, if we’re not careful, intimidating. It is causing us to question our testing methods, our communication, and our roles. We need to both focus and wear varying hats at the same time. That’s challenging.
Fortunately we have a team of some of the best people in the technology and publishing business. We have graduates from top universities with new ideas and lots of energy. We have experienced publishing and subscription management software experts who have honed the disciplines necessary to help our clients implement and integrate successfully. That combination can produce amazing results, and I’m extremely confident in our ability to reach the goals we’ve set for this year.
So we’re running faster than ever. We’ve never shied away from hard work, and this year is already shaping up to require plenty of it.
Please let us know what you need and we’ll do our very best to deliver it as fast as possible.
All the best,
