AdvantageCS recently attended the 39th Annual Meeting of the Society of Scholarly Publishers in Boston at the beautiful Westin Boston Waterfront. The theme of the conference was Striking a Balance: Embracing the Change While Preserving Tradition in Scholarly Communications.
In addition to informative presentations, the conference offered plenty of opportunities to catch up with old friends and meet new ones. More than a few Advantage clients had attendees there including the American Medical Association, Massachusetts Medical Society, American Association for the Advancement of Science, Duke University Press, American Institute of Physics and Mary Ann Liebert.
Traffic was steady at the AdvantageCS booth in the exhibit hall, where Dan Heffernan, Vice President & Chief Product Manager; and Bob Thornton, Account Manager, held court. Of special note this year was the highlighting of Members Advantage which brings together two key aspects of Advantage---subscription management and association membership management. AdvantageCS is the only supplier combining these into one seamless software package for publishing and membership organizations.
And finally, many exhibitors participated in the annual prize drawing. AdvantageCS was unique in giving away, not just one, but three Amazon Echo Dots! Congratulations to the winners: Eileen Cavanagh of the American College of Cardiology, Kimberly Martin of SAE International, and Kristen Kauck of AACC!
We’re already looking forward to next year’s conference---hope to see you there!
