Highlights from SubSummit 2025

Our Director of Client Services, Scott Ghormley and VP & Chief Product Manager, Dan Heffernan recently had the pleasure of attending SubSummit 2025 in Dallas. We were proud to sponsor this dynamic event, which attracted 1,500 professionals representing such diverse fields as eCommerce, SaaS, retail, and media, plus various businesses that support these industries, such as payment processors and service providers.

To explore the evolving landscape of subscription-based business models, the event featured over 100 speakers across five stages, offering insights into customer retention, onboarding practices, and the role of AI in recurring revenue.

Here are some of the highlights:

  • AI Integration: Discussions centered on how artificial intelligence is transforming subscription services, from personalized recommendations to predictive analytics.
  • Bundling Strategies: Companies showcased innovative bundling approaches to enhance subscriber value and retention.
  • Interactive Sessions: Peer-group talks allowed professionals to discuss challenges and share strategies on topics such as proactive retention and elite customer service channels.

But conference sessions were only a fraction of the program. Attendees participated in over 3,000 one-on-one hosted buyer meetings lasting 15 minutes each (much like speed-dating), fostering meaningful connections between vendors and potential customers. There was also considerable time allotted for attendees to visit the trade show floor. We made new contacts and had several engaging conversations at our booth, which are always a highlight for us! We also enjoyed after-hours events, including a fantastic performance by fellow Michigander Mike Posner.

SubSummit has grown significantly since the global pandemic, becoming a must-attend event in the non-publishing-specific subscription business in the U.S. It successfully brings together industry leaders, innovators, start-ups, and suppliers in the industry for 2½ days of education, networking, great food, and plenty of fun!
